FAQ

What are the difference between "tracks" and "stems"?

Tracks are the individual parts that you record. Stems are several tracks mixed down to one stereo file, or a submix.
For example, when recording a drum set you may have a track for kick drum, a track for snare drum, two tracks for overhead, etc.
All of the individual tracks for the kit can be routed to a drum bus or soloed and exported as a "Drums" stem. That one stereo audio file will contain all the individual tracks that make up the stem.

What is included in the revisions?

Each of our Mixing and Mastering services includes a certain number of revisions. These revisions include any adjustments and edits to the services you ORIGINALLY ordered; not additional services.
For example; if you are unhappy with the guitars on a mix and want to send a D.I track to have us process with amp simulating software, but did not ask for that service on the original order, that would not be included in the revision and would come with an additional cost.
However, if you would like the guitars brought up louder in the mix or made "brighter" or panned differently, that would be included in your revisions.

What is your refund policy?

Our sevices are provided through technical skill, time, and experience and are therefore intangible and not able to be returned or refunded.
We strive to make every artist we work with as happy with their project as possible which is why we offer revisions with all of our services. If after your revisions are used up and you are still unsatisfied with the results, please contact us about additional revisions.

Why should I send my song to a professional audio engineer? Can't I mix and master my own music?

While you definitely “can” mix and/or master your own music, there are two big reasons why sending your songs to a professional is more beneficial to you:
Objectivity – After all of your time writing and recording a song, it can be easy to become biased and unsure of where to begin the mixing or mastering process. With a fresh perspective, a professional audio engineer will be able to fix problems and enhance your song more effectively.
“Let the Professionals Handle It” – You are an artist. Your time and energy should be put into writing, recording, and performing your music, not bogged down in the Post Production steps. At Pro Audio Mixes, we specialize in Audio Post Production. With years of experience and specific skills and tools for the job, you can rest assured that your project is in good hands so you can focus on making new music - We’ll take it from there!
